Tip 18 - Unit Size

Unit size, sleeping capacity and season are important in determining the value of a timeshare as well as the ability to exchange it. Since the developer and the exchange company may disagree on how they define the unit size, it is important to verify with the exchange organization exactly what unit size they have assigned to your timeshare.

VERIFY WITH THE EXCHANGE COMPANY EXACTLY WHAT UNIT SIZE THEY CONSIDER YOUR TIMESHARE TO BE FOR TRADING PURPOSES.

Listed below are possible unit size designations:

    1. Lock 0ff (one room, may not have kitchen)
    2. Hotel Unit (one room, generally no kitchen)
    3. Efficency (one room, may not have kitchen)
    4. Studio (one room, generally has kitchen)
    5. Studio with loft
    6. 1 Bedroom
    7. 1 Bedroom with loft
    8. 2 Bedroom
    9. 2 Bedroom with loft
   10. 3 Bedroom
   11. 3 Bedroom with loft
   12. 4 Bedroom

In addition to unit size designation, kitchen size should also be verified. Kitchen designations are:

    1. NK - No kitchen
    2. PK - Partial kitchen (missing some of basic items)
    3. MK - Mini kitchen (basic items, some/all mini-size)
    4. FK - Full kitchen (refrigerator, sink, micro/oven)
